A century later, his great-nephew, the Dunkirk watercolourist Philippe Persyn, set off on a journey of memory, following in the footsteps of his illustrious grandfather.
This double epic of two Flemings in China will first take you to discover the Messageries maritimes, the famous company whose liners sailed from Marseille to Yokohama (Japan).
You will then continue your journey through a series of 30 watercolours, works as intimate as they are picturesque, painted by Philippe Persyn as he sailed along the Grand Canal in China.
